Bureau of Canada selects Argyle Rowland Communications as
public relations agency of record
TORONTO, June
12, 2006 - Toronto-based Argyle Rowland Communications
has been chosen by the Peanut Bureau of Canada
as its agency of record for public relations. The selection
followed a competitive process that involved several Canadian-based
agencies.
The Peanut Bureau,
the Canadian branch of the American Peanut Council
, promotes the nutritional and taste benefits of
U.S.-grown peanuts in Canada. Argyle's activities will include
communications to consumers and health professionals, public
education campaigns, Web site management, sponsorship management
and trade-focused initiatives.
"Argyle came highly
recommended for their knowledge of the food industry and excellent
relationships with media and dietitians across Canada," said
Patrick Archer, president of the American Peanut Council.
"We were also impressed with the firm's expertise, experience
and understanding that for the overwhelming majority of Canadians,
peanuts are a healthy, nutritious food."
Canadians are among
the world's largest per capita peanut consumers. More than
70 per cent of all peanuts consumed in Canada are grown in
the U.S., and the average Canadian consumes 2.7 kg of peanuts
and peanut butter every year. Most leading Canadian brands
of peanut butter, in-shell peanuts and shelled, flavoured
peanut snacks use U.S.-grown peanuts in their products.
"The Argyle team is
excited to earn the confidence of the Peanut Bureau of Canada,
and to add them to our growing list of top-tier food and consumer
marketing clients," said Daniel Tisch, president of Argyle
Rowland Communications. "American-grown peanuts offer superior
flavour and nutrition, and fit perfectly with today's trend
toward healthy snacking. We'll tell the Peanut Bureau's story
with creativity, energy and enthusiasm."
