Argyle president named a fellow of Canadian Public Relations Society

TORONTO, May 31, 2010 – Argyle Communications president Daniel Tisch has been named to the Canadian Public Relations Society’s College of Fellows, in recognition of his significant contributions to the practice of public relations and to the Canadian Public Relations Society.

The College of Fellows is the Canadian public relations industry’s highest professional designation, awarded by CPRS to “proven leaders who have made exceptional contributions to the profession and their communities.” Since inception, 73 professionals have been named to the College, along with 23 honorary fellows.

In a statement released by the Society, College of Fellows Presiding Officer Bart Mindszenthy APR, FCPRS said: “We are delighted to welcome nine new Fellows into a College that truly demands its members have exemplary professional qualities and have made truly meaningful contributions to the practice and body of knowledge in public relations.”

In his 22-year career, Tisch has served on the staff of two senior cabinet ministers, advised some of the world’s most respected organizations and led complex public engagement, issues management and communications programs. Since 2008, he has been Canada’s representative on the board of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communications Management, currently serving as chair-elect.

Since Tisch became president of Argyle Communications in 2003, the firm has expanded significantly and earned a reputation as one of Canada’s top independent, mid-sized agencies. With thriving practices in consumer marketing, corporate and public affairs, and health communications, Argyle is invariably among the leaders in awards from the Canadian Public Relations Society and the International Association of Business Communicators. The firm has earned 17 major industry awards in 2009 alone, and 67 under Tisch’s leadership.

“There’s no greater honour than being recognized by one’s peers,” Tisch said. “I feel very fortunate to have worked with clients and colleagues who believe in the highest standards of ethics and professionalism — and in the critical connection between public relations and the public interest.”
