Argyle Communications wins Canada’s top award for crisis management
Leading independent firm wins three national awards of excellence
TORONTO, June 18, 2010 – Argyle Communications is celebrating after winning gold, silver and bronze awards of excellence from the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS), including the gold level in issues and crisis management. The awards were presented at the CPRS national conference in Regina earlier this week.
“This extraordinary recognition from the Canadian Public Relations Society caps a superb year for Argyle Communications, with 17 major awards from our two industry associations,” said Daniel Tisch, president of Argyle Communications. “At Argyle, we strive to achieve high standards, and it’s encouraging to see our peers tell us we are succeeding.”
CPRS presented Argyle with the Gold Award of Excellence in the issues and crisis management category for the firm’s work with the American Peanut Council during the 2009 salmonella crisis that prompted the largest food recall in North American history. Argyle’s leadership during the crisis also earned the agency four additional awards, including CPRS Toronto’s “PR Campaign of the Year.”
Argyle earned the CPRS Silver Award of Excellence in the government relations category for a campaign that sought equitable access to ice time for girls’ hockey in Toronto’s city-owned arenas. This campaign won an additional three awards this year, including the International Association of Business Communicators’ (IABC) Toronto campaign of the year.
The firm’s third CPRS Award of Excellence was a Bronze in the highly competitive media relations category. Argyle’s campaign for Nestlé focused on the importance of portion control during the Hallowe’en season. The campaign also earned a CPRS Toronto award in media relations.
